Greetings in the name of Jesus the Christ. Whatever we do, it's for Him and
because of Him. We truly serve an awesome God. Thanks for your caring for
His kids in Haiti.
This month's scripture comes from Hebrews 9:23-28.
23 It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be
purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with
better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the
true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence.
25 Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high
priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own.
26 Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the
world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do
away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and
he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those
who are waiting for him.
The best news is that we finally got Ron and Dianna back on May 27.
Thanks to God for giving them a great break and bringing them back to us in
2 pieces. Ron is 1 piece and Dianna the other, or is that vice versa? They
go out again at the end of July, but that is because their youngest daughter
Amber is getting married in early August and San Diego.
Before they came back though, we had a visit from Phil Kinzer, preacher
of the West End Church of Christ in Nashville and a second group from
Lipscomb, where Phil also teaches Bible. It was so cool to have them. They
got a long so well with the kids. See Bob's page for pics on the May 8/11
entry. There are also other pics to your left.
What about Amy? Glad you asked. I mentioned Amy very briefly on Bob's
page on the last May 19th paragraph. That doesn't even come close to doing
her justice. She has been great here. We so much love having her. She
has been great with the girls and in fact is doing the devotionals on Monday,
Tuesday, and Thursday nights with them. When I leave this coming Thursday,
June 5th, she will also assume the added duties of Sunday AM Bible School
for the little ones, ages 2 - 12.
Amy is only 21 and already is a Lipscomb grad. She starts med school this
coming July in East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Johnson City, TN.
It has seriously been a blessing here and also an education. She has
gotten acclimated to Haiti so incredibly quick. Culture shock? What culture
shock? I think hers lasted about 30 minutes, 45 tops. She walks into town by
herself, goes to the hospital with Tabitha, one of our more industrious
church members, assists with the feeding program (in fact she gave me
some good ideas for it) and is just a joy to be around. She is also really good
with the little ones and will make a great mom someday. A few more pics of
Amy are to your right and up.
Hey, you like music don't you? Everybody does. Do you know we had for
a whole 2 hours one Sunday our very own quasi-marching band. This is
before Ron and Dianna got back, and I think they are very grateful they
missed it. Of course you can't hear from the website, but I bet you can just
imagine how loud they were from the pics to your right.
Guess who we had visit from the Southwest Church of Christ in Ada, our
sponsor? Denise Platt and her husband Butch. Denise is one of our many
unsung heroes (OK OK, heroines). Denise is called the super secretary at
Ada. She is the one that takes care of all the donations and makes sure they
get to the right account and makes sure we know how much money is
available for the kids each month. She manages the sponsor accounts. She
does the bulletin boards and the quarterly orphanage newsletter. But up
until this last weekend, she and Butch had never been here. Well, cross that
off your list Denise! It was a pleasure, albeit a short one, to have you and
Butch here to see what it's really like in Haiti. They even got some relaxation
time at Labadee Beach, the one the cruise lines use. There is a pic of
Denise with the kids and Butch preaching to your right. Denise also
promised (that's a hint there Denise) that she would send some Labadee
pics when she returns.
Bob's page, Kid of the Month (Peterson Francois), the New Kid Page (20
month old Laughina Guerrere) and this Home Page have been updated.
Please be sure to view them all
This will be it for me for a while, I'm going back to the US for 7 weeks and
am not sure I can update the entire website from there, although I will try.
Please keep us in prayer.
Thanks as always for visiting the website and caring for these kids, the
future of Haiti. May the Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, grant
you unlimited spiritual blessings for all of your days on earth. Feel free to
contact me at northeast125@yahoo.com for any other suggestions you might
have for the website.
