This month's new kid is Shinalove. I really don't know a lot about her, except that her
situation is very similar to Alto's and Laughina's. Her aunt brought her in, telling us that her
mom was dead and they don't know where her dad is. She was hungry and malnourished.
She has already been to the hospital once. She looks to be under 2 years old, but until we
get her birth certificate, we won't know her exact age.
The first 3 pics to your left are of Shinalove the day she came to us on August 26. It took
a while for us to calm her down. She was famished. But she couldn't cry. When she tried to
cry, all that came out were faint and hollow sounds, nothing like a healthy kid crying. I held
her for awhile and was actually concerned that she would die in my arms.
She is getting better now. The pic below was taken on September 9. She moves a lot
better and can cry a lot better too.
Shinalove now has a sponsor. No sooner had the email been sent out asking for a
sponsor for her, someone stepped up and volunteered. Thanks!
